Fox Hunting

Fox Hunting or Radio Direction Finding is both an interesting activity and a world wide sport.

Scouts enjoy finding hidden transmitters which may be hidden in locations ranging up to hundreds of meters away from the start point.  Scouts start off slowly an gain confidence as they learn to use the directional antenna and the custom built receiver.

Foxhunting is a popular JOTA activity and is enjoyed by scouts of all ages and capabilities. DSCF5195  Foxhunting provided something different at  Agoonoree 2015, a camp catering for Scouts with special needs run at  “Treetop’s” Scout Camp, Riddell’s Creek.  Many of these scouts became very excited as they could hear the signal tone rise as they got closer to the hidden foxes.
