Western Victorian Training Weekend – AOCP(F) – Cancelled

When:
22 May 2015, 20:00 – 16:03

Where:
Cooinda Burrong Scout Camp

Description:

Sorry you missed out on this residential weekend at a marvelous campsite setting with all the comforts of home (well almost). Unfortunately we did not receive enough participants to make the weekend economical.  Perhaps next year we will try again. Our next metropolitan Foundation Training event is scheduled for he 18 & 19 July.

Weekend includes:

  • bunkhouse accomodation
  • full catering
  • Foundation amateur radio training
  • AOCP(F) assessment (optional)
  • friendly team.

Families welcome to attend and explore the local country side.

If you are interested in achieving your first Amateur Radio License or just learning a little about radio, this is an ideal training opportunity.  The course follows the Amateur Operators Certificate of Proficiency – Foundation syllabus.  It includes theory and practical sessions.

The course is ideal for teen-aged Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders.  Parents are welcome to attend with their son or daughter.  Prior to the course you will need to do some study.  We provide all applicants with a training manual and we recommend that you start reading this two weeks prior to the course.

At the end of the training sessions, you have the option of sitting the official assessment including multiple choice questions and practical assessments.

We normally provide full catering on both the Saturday and Sunday.
