Description:

Foundation Licence ManualBecome a Radio Active Scout and be more than a passenger on the airwaves!

Learn a little more about Amateur (Ham) Radio and you may take up the option of sitting the Theory and Practical assessment at the conclusion of the course. Note, you don’t have to agree to sit the assessment to take part in this course.

After pre-reading the training book and attending the 1.5 day course you will know if you are ready to sit the assessments and achieve your Amateur Operators Certificate of Proficiency (Foundation) and you may also apply for your first Amateur Radio License.

This activity is run as a residential boot camp with a focus on learning but still provides opportunities to have a little fun along the way.

This activity is:

  • suitable for tech savvy teen-aged Scouts (recommended minimum age 13 years).
  • an ideal Venturer Pursuit activity
  • a great launching pad into radio for Rovers and Leaders.

Course includes colour training book, a weekend of theory and practice, bunk house accomodation and the option to sit the assessment at conclusion of the course.

Sorry, recent cost increases have impacted on our price structure. Please note the course fee of $115 only covers the training book, catering and venue fees. Assessment (Exam) pack, callsign allocation and licensing costs are set by AMC & ACMA and are beyond our control. We are happy to share the pricing model with you on request.

Apply via Scout Training – Course Code: 106016.

Location: Cooinda Burrong Scout Camp – 3075 Northern Grampians Road.
